Expressing “Already” with “yǐjīng”
已经……了
How it works
已经……了 means “already.” It shows that something happened earlier than expected or is now complete.
The pattern
Subject + 已经 + Verb / Predicate + 了
Example sentences
我已经吃饭了。
I have already eaten.
他已经回家了。
He has already gone home.
天气已经很热了。
The weather is already very hot.
Usage note
已经 often works together with 了.
