Measure Words with “zhè” and “nà”
这 / 那 + 量词
How it works
When 这 or 那 is followed by a noun, a measure word is usually needed.

这 / 那 + Measure Word + Noun
Example sentences
这本书很好看。
This book is very good.
那个人是我朋友。
That person is my friend.
我喜欢这家饭店。
I like this restaurant.
Usage note
Do not usually say 这书 or 那人 in basic standard Chinese. A measure word is normally needed.
