点（钟）

diǎn (zhōng)

How it works

Basic time expressions use 点（钟） for hours.

现在三点。

Xiànzài sān diǎn.

It is three o’clock now.

我早上六点起床。

Wǒ zǎoshang liù diǎn qǐchuáng.

I get up at six in the morning.

我们晚上八点见。

Wǒmen wǎnshang bā diǎn jiàn.

Let’s meet at eight in the evening.

点 and 点钟 are both possible, but 点 is more common in daily speech.
