Expressing “Compared With” Using “gēn”

跟以前比，我现在更忙了。

Gēn yǐqián bǐ, wǒ xiànzài gèng máng le.

Compared with before, I am busier now.

跟姐姐比起来，弟弟更安静。

Gēn jiějie bǐ qǐlái, dìdi gèng ānjìng.

Compared with his older sister, the younger brother is quieter.

跟去年比，今年天气更热。

Gēn qùnián bǐ, jīnnián tiānqì gèng rè.

Compared with last year, the weather is hotter this year.
