How it works

This pattern emphasizes that the difference is large.

现在比以前方便多了。

Xiànzài bǐ yǐqián fāngbiàn duō le.

Now it is much more convenient than before.

这本书比那本书有意思多了。

Zhè běn shū bǐ nà běn shū yǒu yìsi duō le.

This book is much more interesting than that one.

他现在比去年瘦多了。

Tā xiànzài bǐ qùnián shòu duō le.

He is much thinner now than last year.

多了 strongly increases the comparison.
