Using “bèi” Sentences

How it works
A 被 sentence is used to express the passive voice.
The pattern
Receiver + 被 + Agent + Verb
Example sentences
我的手机被弟弟拿走了。
My phone was taken away by my younger brother.
这本书被他借走了。
This book was borrowed by him.
我被老师表扬了。
I was praised by the teacher.
Usage note
Passive sentences are often used when the receiver is more important than the doer.
