Expressing “Coincidentally” with “qiǎo”

巧

qiǎo

How it works

巧 (qiǎo) in this usage expresses coincidence, especially when two things happen to match unexpectedly. It often appears in patterns like:

真巧 (zhēn qiǎo) = what a coincidence

碰巧 (pèngqiǎo) = by coincidence

巧得很 (qiǎo de hěn) = extremely coincidental

Example sentences
