Expressing “Increasingly” with “rìyì”

日益

rìyì

How it works

日益 (rìyì) means “increasingly,” “day by day,” or “more and more with time.” It is a formal written expression used when describing a gradual but clear development or intensification over time.

It is especially common with words such as:

严重 (yánzhòng) serious

突出 (tūchū) prominent

增长 (zēngzhǎng) increase

完善 (wánshàn) improve

增强 (zēngqiáng) strengthen
