Long Attributive Structures
长定语结构
How it works
A 长定语结构 (cháng dìngyǔ jiégòu) is a long attributive structure placed before a noun, usually ending with 的 (de). At HSK6 level, long attributive phrases are very common and allow Chinese to compress a large amount of descriptive information before the head noun.
Such structures often include:
clauses
verb phrases
modifiers
explanations of identity, purpose, or background
Example sentences

他提出的并不是一个单纯从理论出发、脱离现实情况的抽象判断。

我们需要的不是表面上看起来完美、实际上却难以长期执行的规则。
