Expressing “Not at All” with “yīdiǎnr yě bù”

yīdiǎnr yě bù

How it works

一点儿也不 (yìdiǎnr yě bù) means “not at all.” It strongly emphasizes negation.

The pattern

Example sentences

Wǒ yìdiǎnr yě bù lèi.

I am not tired at all.

Zhège wèntí tā yìdiǎnr yě bù míngbai.

He does not understand this question at all.

Tā jīntiān yìdiǎnr yě bù gāoxìng.

She is not happy at all today.

Key point

This is a strong negative expression, stronger than simple 不 (bù).
