Expressing “Feel Free” with “jǐnguǎn”

尽管

jǐnguǎn

How it works

In this use, 尽管 (jǐnguǎn) means “feel free to...” or “go ahead and...” It is used when the speaker gives permission or encourages the listener not to worry.

This is different from the concessive 尽管 (jǐnguǎn) meaning “although.”

The pattern

尽管 (jǐnguǎn) + Verb / Clause
