Using “jiāng” as a Formal “bǎ”

将

jiāng

How it works

将 (jiāng) can function like a more formal version of 把 (bǎ). It brings the object before the verb and emphasizes how that object is dealt with.

Compared with 把 (bǎ), 将 (jiāng) is more common in written Chinese, formal speeches, reports, and official language.

The pattern

Subject + 将 (jiāng) + Object + Verb + Complement / Result
