一面……一面……
How it works
一面……一面…… (yīmiàn...yīmiàn...) means “while... at the same time...” It is similar to 一边……一边…… (yìbiān...yìbiān...), but often sounds a little more formal or written.
The pattern
一面 (yīmiàn) + Action 1, 一面 (yīmiàn) + Action 2
Example sentences
他一面听大家发言，一面在纸上简单地记下重点。
He listened to everyone’s speeches while at the same time writing down the key points briefly on paper.
她一面安慰孩子，一面赶紧联系医生。
She comforted the child while at the same time quickly contacting the doctor.

Key point
This pattern is often used in more organized or formal description than 一边……一边…… (yìbiān...yìbiān...).
