Expressing “On the Basis of” with “píng”

凭

píng

How it works

凭 (píng) means “on the basis of,” “by means of,” or “relying on.” It often introduces the basis, evidence, qualification, or condition for doing something.

This is a very useful HSK5 word because it appears in both formal and practical contexts.

The pattern

凭 (píng) + Basis / Evidence / Condition

Example sentences
