Expressing “Never Again” with “zài yě bù”

How it works

再也不……了 (zài yě bù...le) means “never again...” It is used when the speaker strongly states that something will not happen again in the future.

It often expresses:

strong determination

disappointment

emotional reaction

firm decision

再也不 (zài yě bù) + Verb + 了 (le)

我再也不想跟他争论这件事了。

Wǒ zài yě bù xiǎng gēn tā zhēnglùn zhè jiàn shì le.

I never want to argue with him about this matter again.

这次教训太深了，我再也不会这么大意了。

Zhè cì jiàoxun tài shēn le, wǒ zài yě bù huì zhème dàyì le.

This lesson was too deep; I will never be this careless again.

听完他的解释以后，我再也不误会他了。

Tīng wán tā de jiěshì yǐhòu, wǒ zài yě bù wùhuì tā le.

After hearing his explanation, I will never misunderstand him again.

This pattern is stronger than simple 不 (bù) and usually reflects a clear emotional decision.
