Expressing “Even If...” with “jiùsuàn”
就算……也……
How it works
就算……也…… (jiùsuàn...yě...) also means “even if...” It is very common in spoken Chinese and often sounds natural and direct.
Compared with 即使 (jíshǐ), 就算 (jiùsuàn) is often more conversational.
Example sentences
就算现在后悔，也已经来不及了。
Even if you regret it now, it is already too late.
就算别人不理解，我也知道自己为什么这么做。
Even if others do not understand, I still know why I do this.
